I have trouble taking you seriously when you can't even give the same number for your activity percentage from one post to the next. Learn your ♥♥♥♥ before making such a foolish comment. Stop beating your card to death, fact is months ago before the recent patches this game ran fine at 65% GPU usage at a comfortable temperature and now it doesn't. If you're running over 60 fps you are wasting power and energy. BF4 on ultra should run 78%-80% on mine and 70% on yours. A game like this on ultra should stop at around 60% on your card and definetly on mine. From your information it is very clear you have no idea how stress on hardware reacts or is used. No card should be running past 80% constantly, no matter if your temps are low or not, it's electric strain on the parts themselves. It's not like logic tells you that someone giving you important information which you don't know to be untrue calls for a little independent research or anything. Ignore the information you don't know to be untrue. You know, because more stuff is happening more frequently and your built-in mobo graphics and your system processor just can hack it alone. The amount of stuff happening in the games you play is why you needed a dedicated GPU. When you are playing a game you want your GPU usage to be high. It is pegged at 97%-100% activity, except when everything on screen is already loaded and no processing needs to be done, which is normal. My R9 290 doesn't have trouble managing the heat while playing as an example. Software related issues aside, there is absolutely no reason your card shouldn't be able to manage the heat unless you have a hardware related issue (or in this case it is hardware related issue caused by a driver's imposed restrictions on the card).Įither way you look at it, your issues can be resolved by you putting in a slight effort to fix your side, which just so you know will also increase the longevity of life on your card and possibly improve performance in other games which may be hitting the same issue without you knowing it. Well if you choose to be ignorant about the way your computer functions then that is your choice. Rolling abck drivers to 13.3 or 13.8 would break about 6 other games I own and play. Since my hardware hasn't changed excetp via drivers 13.3 to 14.4, but the game has changed signifigantly, it's logical to deduce, that something has happened, on the games side, not my computers. Yet a few months ago it worked fine for teh entire first campaign 3 times through. Start with examining your own machine first though because your symptoms are most likely hardware related and solvable. You would need to research your card a bit more for the information on that because I can't take on the responsibility associated with the potential user error damage which can be caused by not knowing the information yourself.Īnyway, good luck with your issue. I am not absolutely sure without looking it up, but if I recall correctly the 7870 does have a dual bios setup, meaning you might need to flip the switch to the unrestricted bios. If not, you will most likely need to find an updated bios for your card which will allow the auto fan setting to max your fan speed. Then set it back to auto for the fan and see if auto allows the fan to get to that speed. If you can only set the manual speed, figure out what speed is required to keep the card sub-85 degrees celsius. If you are overheating make sure that you clean out your case and the fans, ensuring that all fans are working, and make sure in the CCC overdrive settings you set max fan speed to 100% (unless your only option is to set a manual speed in which case leave it auto or set it at 60% and fire up the game to see if 60% is high enough while you play). GPU refers to the graphics processor and not the graphics memory. Higher GPU usage is not a sign of a memory leak. Where in gods name are the freaking devs? Has anyone found a solution to these issues? Now wether I'm at VERY LOW or Ultra High the GPU is 88-99% (bounces) and overheating my card Originally posted by TAW Derisat Hartfelt:A few months back I could play this game no issues on ULTRA 1080p 1920X1080 at 60fps Locked and be at 45% GPU usage
